Tile Installer in Meridian, Idaho
Meridian Quality Tile is a tile installer in Meridian, Idaho. We set showers, bathroom floors, kitchen backsplashes, and large-format plank in Ada County houses and tenant spaces. Tile installation, shower tile, kitchen backsplash tile, and floor tile installation are the jobs that come through most often. South of I-84, Old Town along Pine, and custom streets north of McMillan all sit on the same list.
Call with the town, the room, and whether you need a stall, a floor, a splash, or a repair. Same week estimates in most cases. Photos of the substrate help. We quote before the first bag of thinset opens.
Residential Tile Services in Meridian
Tile installation
The full set: substrate, layout, mortar, tile, grout, and movement joints. We flatten when the slab dishes. We refuse a carton that cannot live in that room. We are a setter, not a showroom. See tile installation for how a Meridian floor or wet wall is bid.
Shower tile
A stall is a waterproof assembly. Membrane, slope to the drain, wall tile, a floor that can pitch. Greenboard in the spray comes out. Niches get waterproofed before the face. Details live on shower tile .
Bathroom tile
Floors, wet walls, and the band at the tub as one room. The toilet comes up. Flange height decides extra membrane. Guest baths and primary baths do not share a cut list. Bathroom tile is the whole bath, not only the stall.
Kitchen backsplash
Outlet cuts, 3x12 subway, full-height range walls, a silicone joint at the counter. We extend boxes so plates sit proud. Glass wants white thinset and a flat wall. Kitchen backsplash is a wall of cuts, not a sticker.
Floor tile
Flatness, EJ171 joints, coverage on slab or wood. Rectified plank shows every hump under west glass. We grind or pour before clips. Floor tile is lippage control before grout color.
Porcelain tile
Dense bodies, back-buttering, DCOF at entries that take January grit. Indoor wood-look plank stays inside unless the carton is frost-rated. Porcelain tile is the wear face that takes boots.
Ceramic tile
Glazed walls and floor-rated ceramic only where the carton allows it. Wall glaze on a kitchen floor will wear and crack. Wet walls still need a membrane. Ceramic tile is not leftover wall glaze on a floor.
Large format tile
Faces over 15 inches need a flatter plane, medium-bed mortar, and back-buttering. Clips keep edges in plane. They do not pull a dish out of fill. Large format tile is grind and pour before clips.
Mosaic tile
Shower floors, niche faces, mesh sheets. Small tesserae follow slope. A 12x24 cannot. Glass wants white mortar and a longer haze clean. Mosaic tile is cut mesh, not folded corners.
Outdoor tile
Frost-rated bodies, pitch away from the house, exterior movement joints. Indoor leftover on an open patio will pop in freeze-thaw. Outdoor tile is weather work. Keep kitchen plank inside.
Heated floor tile
Electric mats, ohm tests before and after the set, heat off until the maker window. The mat is a layer. The tile still has to be flat. Heated floor tile is a tested wire under a real bed.
Tile repair
Cracked faces, hollow spots, matched spares. We tap the field before we bid one square. A live crack in the slab is a joint, not a color. Tile repair is a cut-out, not a smear of caulk.
Grout repair
Recut joints, epoxy in wet rooms, hard-water film on light grout. Stain on sound grout is not the same job as a sandy joint. Grout repair is packed grout, not paint.
Tub surround tile
Three walls around the tub that stays, backer, membrane, a sealed deck. We do not sell a walk-in swap on this page. Tub surround tile is the surround, not a conversion package.
Commercial Tile Services
Commercial tile
Restrooms, break rooms, shop entries. After-hours access, mop-rated grout, a wet DCOF at the door. The Village and Eagle Road fronts take grit. Commercial tile is traffic and hours, still a set.
Why Meridian Property Owners Call Meridian Quality Tile
Meridian was platted in 1893 on homestead land and named for the Boise Meridian. It is Ada County's fast-growth city, second in the state after Boise, with 117,635 people in the 2020 count. Most of the housing went up after 2000. Older stock sits in Old Town along Pine, Main, and Meridian Road. North of McMillan is master-planned. South of I-84 is the active new-construction belt.
That split is the tile problem. Production slabs on fill are not flat enough for rectified plank. Old Town wood moves in January. Irrigation laterals still cut lots. Freeze-thaw pops the wrong body on a patio. We read the substrate, then we set. TCNA methods and ANSI A108 are the book. Thinset, membranes, and coverage are the work. We do not sell slab countertops and we do not run a flooring showroom.
The Village at Meridian, West Ada schools, and corridors on Eagle Road, Ten Mile, and Locust Grove are the map people use on the call. Subdivisions like Paramount, Bridgetower, Tuscany, Cadence, and The Oaks North show up by name. We still ask for a photo of the actual floor.
Our Tile Installer Process
We look at the substrate
Photos first. Then a site look when the slab, the stall, or the access is unclear. We tap for hollows, straightedge for dish, and check flange height. A carton label tells us if the body belongs in that room. Fill lots south of I-84 and Old Town wood do not get the same prep. We say that before a bag opens.
We plan layout and joints
Snapped lines from the longest sight line, usually a hall or a slider. Movement joints on saw cuts and at perimeters per TCNA EJ171. Wet rooms get a membrane plan before a pretty pattern. We tell you if the layout will die in a sliver at the door. Centered fields beat leftover strips at the entry.
We set in mortar
Backer or membrane, then thinset with the notch the face needs. Back-butter on large porcelain. Coverage 80 percent dry, 95 percent wet. Leveling clips on rectified edges after the plane is already close. We lift a tile in the field to check voids. A hollow face comes back up.
We grout and protect
Grout after cure, packed and cleaned before haze sets. Silicone at changes of plane, not grout in a corner that should flex. Heat mats stay off until the maker window. We leave you a return time, not a shrug. Furniture waits. The stall stays dry until we say.
Areas We Serve
Meridian is the hub. We also set tile in Boise , Nampa , Eagle , Kuna , Star , Caldwell , Garden City , Middleton , Emmett , Hidden Springs , South Meridian , and Melba . Emmett and Melba are planned days. Name the town when you call.
Questions
How do we get a tile installer estimate in Meridian?
Call or text the number on this page. Name the city, the room, and whether it is a shower, a floor, a splash, or a repair. Photos of the substrate help. We quote before thinset hits the wall. Same week visits in most cases, not a 24 hour promise.
Are you a showroom or a slab shop?
Neither. We are a setter. You can buy tile elsewhere. We set it to TCNA methods on a substrate that can hold it. Slab countertops are a different trade. Tub-to-shower conversions are a different site. This number is for tile installation work.
Do you publish a price list?
No. Angi, HomeAdvisor, Fixr, and Thumbtack publish national ranges. We quote the room after we see flatness, wet-area needs, and cuts. A south Meridian fill slab and an Old Town wood floor do not share a square-foot number from a website.
Which towns does a tile installer from this site cover?
Meridian is the hub. We also work in Boise, Nampa, Eagle, Kuna, Star, Caldwell, Garden City, Middleton, Emmett, Hidden Springs, south Meridian, and Melba. Name the town on the call. Emmett and Melba are longer routing days, not surprise add-ons.
Who does the work?
Calls and texts go to an independent local tile installer that takes work from this site. That business sets prices, schedule, and any credentials. That is also in the footer. We describe the work in first person because that is how the set is done.
Is the estimate free?
Yes. We quote before work starts. There is no obligation to book. Photos of the stall or floor speed the look. A carton label helps if you already bought tile. We refuse a body that will fail in that room.
